Jamsta Photography has had a great kickstart to the year, with a mixture of photography & video-making. Over the next 4 months, I'll be taking on an extra side project of recording our band RhythmNation in both photos & videos; part of a new initiative of making our contract an interactive experience by having a FB page to stay connected with our friends, family & guests. This means I'll be regularly posting photos & mini-videos/films of our time onboard. You can see my video work here.

It wasn't too long until Jamsta began getting commissions onboard, including comedians Mutzie "the Cajun King of Comedy", Caroline Picard "the Cajun Queen of Comedy", Tom "Hell-Yeah" Foss, and Billy D. Washington. Tanner McGuire, the production singer and friend from a previous contract also sought the work of Jamsta to provide portfolio headshots.

Wow, it's been a busy past 2 months, with 4 comedians, 3 musicians and a singer all feeling the Jamsta Photography love. Thanks to Tim Cavanagh, Valarie Storm, Manny Oliviera, James Clarke, Edd Carr, Myrish Spell and Shannon Strodel for choosing to have me capture you at your finest!

I want to particularly thank ​​Jeff "The Fun Dude" Shaw; Carnival Cruiseline's #1 Punchliner Comedy Club manager, hilarious comedian & a man whom I have the privilege of working alongside every week. He is absolutely dedicated to his role of managing the comedy club and has done a fantastic job of connecting me and my work to the numerous comedians that fly-onboard the ship every week.

Well my time on the Dream has come to an end and what a way to finish up my work here; with photoshoots of a variety of crew-members: B-boy, Art Auctioneer, Comedian, Singer, Technician, and a Dancer. With over 20 different photo-shoots done over the past 4 months, it was no doubt a busy contract for Jamsta Photography. On top of that, I volunteered to shoot all 5 stage shows onboard the Dream for the production cast. These shows are always a great & fun challenge for a photographer, with the fast changing lighting, mixed with fast action and a variety of things happening all around the stage.

BIG NEWS!! BIG NEWS!! BIG NEWS!! Jamsta Photography has been approached by Carnival Cruise Line's Marketing & Recruitment office to do a Photography Assignment for them. It will entail photographing the entertainment onboard one of their ships; from the musicians, singers, dancers, technicians, entertainment staff and cruise director, to the Camp Carnival kids programs, shows, parties and the daily life of the crew-members. It is going to be a mammoth task for a one-man production but I am pumped & very excited to be involved in this project! This is definitely a a major step up and advancement to my portfolio of work, heading into the international corporate world. I'm especially excited, as my photography will potentially be seen online to an audience around the world; to be used for Carnival's marketing & re-branding initiative for entertainment.

I believe it helps, as an entertainer for CCL myself; that I am able to really capture the essence and atmosphere of the entertainment on the cruise-ships. I have had plenty of experience doing so in the last 3 years of photographing various artists & entertainers onboard. I'm very glad that CCL have noticed my work and deemed it impressive enough to approach me with this commission.

My  time back in Melbourne, Australia has been VERY busy updating my portfolio; sorting through thousands of photos, editing, arranging and selecting the best to add to my online gallery and keeping things updated on my FB page. Please check it out here​​​​

Time to head home and begin to sort & edit through THOUSANDS of photos!​​
Big things are in store for the next few months. I won't reveal too much of it now..... but it looks VERY EXCITING INDEED!!

WOW. What a job. My EPIC 11-day Photo & Video assignment for Carnival Cruise Lines Entertainment has come to a close on the Carnival Breeze. What a whirlwind experience it was; clocking in 14-15hrs a day, taking thousands upon thousands of photos, hours of video of the Entertainment Team, Camp Ocean Youth Staff and Training staff. It was truly a mammoth task for a solo photographer, having to work around the schedules of the various departments, events and the staff onboard, running around from one event straight to another, doing my best to catch everything on the fly without the luxury of much set-up time, as most of the shots are live and unstaged. It was a great learning exercise for me in many ways and I sure put my new equipment to good use!
Thanks to everyone who put up with me shoving a camera in their faces at all sorts of random and (occasionally) inconvenient times!! You're all champions and I do appreciate your co-operation and willingness to help me out to capture the essence of your daily life onboard! I've met some great people on the Breeze and made some new friends; let's hope I get to work with them again in the near future! Cheers to the Breeze!

Jamsta Photography landed the special commission of photographing the special Signature Jazz Charter Cruise onboard the Seabourn Sojourn ship; an event organized by Entertainment Cruise Productions (ECP). This was a fun job to do, capturing some of the world's greatest jazz artists of today live in action! What a great addition to my portfolio. Artists included John Pizzarelli, Jeff Hamilton, Joe Lovano, Diane Reeves, Eliane Elias, Marcus Miller, Monty Alexander, Houston Person, Raul Midon and more! It was certainly a wonderful privilege to not only see these artists shine on stage, but to capture them doing what they do best! Big thanks to ECP for putting on such a great event and having Jamsta Photography along for the ride!!
